Core Responsibilities:

  • Conduct feasibility studies on identified projects and research on latest technologies
  • Implement and manage Energy Master Planning and Projects’ strategies, plans, by-laws, policies and procedures
  • Implement and manage the construction and operation of engineering projects within area of responsivity
  • Monitor service providers’ performance and provide proper reporting through progress and close out reports
  • Provide budgetary and procurement support to Chief specialist.
  • Ensure optimum service delivery and high standard of work is delivered
  • Ensure that work completed is in adherence to governance and legislative requirements
  • Comply with budget costs, financial regulations, minimize expenditure and prevent financial losses.
  • Contribute to a culture which builds rewarding relationships and enables exceptional customer service and ethical conduct

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • National Diploma(N/T/S) Electrical Engineering (Heavy Current) or equivalent NQF6 Electrical Engineering (Heavy Current)
  • 2 years’ experience in municipal electrical distribution networks planning and design

The successful candidate will be required to sign a performance contract as per Council resolution.
